Crime & police
Six-Star Wanted Level
The wanted meter goes back up to six stars, one more than GTA V. One star is easy to shake; six means an all-out manhunt.
What we know
Why it matters
GTA V capped the wanted meter at five stars. GTA VI goes back to six, and Rockstar's preview framed the range clearly: one star is easy to shake, six is a full manhunt.
How police find you
The meter now works with a witness and description system: crimes need someone to see them or an alarm to trip, and police track your face, outfit and vehicle. See Witnesses & Police Descriptions for how to lose the heat.
Where to find
Exact in-game locations will be mapped at launch, from November 19, 2026.

Story
Two Protagonists & Switching
You play as both Jason and Lucia and can switch between them in free roam, much like GTA V, except when the story locks you to one of them.
