GTA 6 is rated M for Mature 17+ by the ESRB, and PEGI 18 shows on the UK PlayStation Store
GTA 6 now has its final ESRB rating: M for Mature 17+, with In-Game Purchases. The UK PlayStation Store lists PEGI 18. Here's every descriptor and what's still pending.

Grand Theft Auto VI has its final North American age rating. The ESRB has rated it M for Mature 17+, and Rockstar's official site swapped its "Rating Pending" badge for the M badge around October 1, 2026. In Europe, the UK PlayStation Store now lists the game as PEGI 18.
None of this is a surprise for a GTA game, but it's another box ticked before the November 19, 2026 launch.

The Xbox Store and the US PlayStation Store show the same M rating. Until late September, both listings said "Rating Pending – Likely Mature 17+".
PEGI 18 in Europe
The UK PlayStation Store lists PEGI 18 with four content descriptors: Drugs, Extreme Violence, Nudity and Sex, plus In-Game Purchases. The UK prices on the same page are £69.99 for Standard and £89.99 for Ultimate.
Still pending
- Germany (USK): the German PlayStation Store still showed USK Rating Pending on October 6.
- Japan (CERO), Australia and other regions: not confirmed. Some ratings appeared in regional PlayStation ads in late September, and at least one ad was pulled. We won't list those until a ratings board or store confirms them.
What "In-Game Purchases" means here
The label is part of the official rating, but Rockstar hasn't said what it refers to. Here's what we do know:
- Rockstar told press that GTA VI has no microtransactions at launch.
- The only paid add-on listed so far is the Ultimate Edition Upgrade ($20 in the US), which turns a Standard copy into the Ultimate Edition.

What it means for launch
A final rating is one of the last formal steps before release, and it doesn't change the date. GTA VI is still set for November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with pre-loading from November 12. Follow the countdown on our release date hub, and check the FAQ for quick answers.
