Everything Take-Two has said about GTA 6: dates, pre-orders, guidance and PC

Rockstar Games announces GTA VI news on its Newswire, but its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, also updates investors every quarter. Those earnings releases are official statements, which makes them worth tracking closely. Its latest update came on August 7, 2026, when it reported first-quarter results for fiscal 2027 and reiterated its full-year outlook on the back of the November launch.

The key statements#

Pre-orders: big, but no numbers#

On the August 7 earnings call, Take-Two described GTA VI pre-order levels as "unprecedented and astonishing" and said they were well above its own internal forecasts. It also said it doesn't know yet how they'll translate into final sales.

The money: guidance, not a sales forecast#

The $8.0 to $8.2 billion figure is Take-Two's company-wide net bookings guidance for fiscal 2027. It isn't a GTA VI sales forecast. Take-Two has not given a unit forecast for the game.

Analysts have filled the gap with their own estimates, which vary widely: roughly 35 to 85 million units and $3 billion to $7.6 billion in the first year, according to reporting by Forbes and Variety. Treat every one of those as an estimate. Budget figures quoted online are unverified too.

On the delays#

Zelnick addressed the second delay after it was announced in November 2025. According to PC Gamer and GamesRadar, he said moving a date is always painful but that Take-Two has never looked back on a delay with regret. Since then, the company has named November 19 in both its May and August 2026 releases.

On PC and GTA Online#

At Take-Two's September 2026 shareholder meeting, as reported by GamingBolt, the company said it will keep supporting GTA Online after GTA VI's launch. Zelnick also said Take-Two wants to launch on platforms with meaningful audiences and that PC is becoming more important. That is not a PC announcement. No PC version of GTA VI exists to pre-order.
