GTA 6 on PC: is it coming, and when?
Is GTA 6 coming to PC? No PC version has been announced. Here's what Take-Two has said, how long Rockstar's past PC ports took, and how to spot fake PC offers.
On this page
GTA 6 is not coming to PC at launch, and no PC version has been announced. Grand Theft Auto VI releases on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Here's everything Take-Two has actually said, and what Rockstar's history suggests (and doesn't).
The official answer
Take-Two's pre-order announcement on June 24, 2026 lists two platforms: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. There's no PC listing on Steam, the Epic Games Store or the Rockstar Games Launcher, and no PC date.
What Take-Two has said about PC
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has talked about PC twice in 2026, without announcing anything:
- May 2026 (Bloomberg): he said "Rockstar always starts on console", explaining that the company wants to serve its core audience first.
- September 2026 (shareholder meeting): he said Take-Two wants to launch on platforms with meaningful audiences and that PC is "becoming more and more important".
Neither statement is a PC announcement or a date. Read them as "not now", not as "soon".
How long did Rockstar's past PC ports take?
Rockstar has brought its recent console games to PC later:
| Game | Console launch | PC launch | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grand Theft Auto V | September 17, 2013 | April 14, 2015 | About 19 months |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | October 26, 2018 | November 5, 2019 | About 13 months |
Beware of fake PC offers
Because there's no PC version, anything claiming to sell or download GTA 6 on PC is fake:
- "GTA 6 PC download" sites and "beta keys" are scams or malware.
- There's no official PC pre-order on any store.
- Videos showing "GTA 6 PC gameplay" or "GTA 6 PC settings" aren't real.
If you want to play at launch, you'll need a PS5 or an Xbox Series X|S. Our PS5 vs PS5 Pro vs Xbox Series X|S guide compares them, and how to pre-order and pre-load walks you through buying.
What about mods?
According to Kotaku and GamesRadar+, Rockstar updated its modding guidelines in September 2026, ruling out things like new story missions and ports of maps and assets between games. Those rules cover Rockstar's existing PC games, and there's nothing to mod in GTA VI on PC yet.
We'll update this page
If Rockstar announces a PC version, this guide changes the same day. Until then, the full platform story is in our platforms news and the FAQ.
